Problem regarding L293D Arduino motor drive shield LED NOT TURNING ON

Tomorrow I have a Science Expo
I took my old arduino kit from shelf and starting work with it when
i was testing the Whenever power is supplied the led in arduino alone turn on but the motor shield does not turns on and some sound come when I shake it I thought some thing must have broken inside I i removed the 3 ICs and shaked it induvidually No sound came
so i dont know what broke please help me I am a 10th standard student

take off the yellow jumper when using external power.

Did you insert the two circuits completely in ( male and female connectors )?
From the image it does not seem so.
Apart from the led not turning on does it work?
Does the main board work: can you program a sketch? Does the serial console visualize the debug messages?
Can't understand the 'some sound when I shake it' as there is not any moving/movable parts ( did you reinsert the ic correctly )?.

I have connect its proper using male to male connector in which one end is connected to The power port of motor shield and the other wnd is connected to aligator clamp and the alicator clamp is connected to battery,

Yes is IC is inserted correctly The sound is not from the ic or due to the When i Remove the 3 ics and shake it even then sound comes Please someone Help me
