I think what happens for a lot of help request posts is that they get lost without being fully answered. People like myself look at the forum, see that every topic has been replied, and kind of assume that most people are being "dealt with".... but a lot of the time it's just the original poster putting on additional details in hopes of getting a reply.
It would be nice if at the table of contents of the forum there was a label of "Unresolved" to which only the original poster or a moderator could remove once the issue was resolved.
Any poster can change the title of the thread they started, to indicate that the problem was resolved. Not as many people take advantage of that capability as should.
The real problem is posters not even bothering to say that they were helped, or were able to resolve the problem on their own, or not saying how they resolved the problem.
