im trying to control motion of fluids through small pvc pipes.
in order to show motion i need to push into the pipe, either fluid or air, to make an effect similar to this
im using this pump to push fluid quite effectively.
MY question is , how can i push air ,fluid alternatively?
im thinkin to use two of the pumps , one drawing from the tank and one from the air and pwm ing both to find the correct balance ,through a T connector. but is quite messy as fluids return backwards and pressure is lost.
anyone with some experience into the matter?
if you pressurize your fluid and your air.
then open valves between, they would not move as they would both be at the same pressure.
open the colored water valve, then the air, then the water and you would have intermittent pockets of air and water.
the total pressure in your vessels would determine the speed of flow.
or, pressure tank, PRV, check valve and solenoid on the air side.
your prv should be set for very low pressures, or you should use an orifice of small size. they sell small orifices.
you could use a needle valve to adjust.
let me know if you want to pursue the air pressure side, for either the whole thing, or just air.
I have done a lot of work in pneumatics and this would be pretty easy to do.
you either need a pressure tank or compressor, the compressor would be pretty noisy.
may not be the optimum solution for a piece of art.
