i’m trying to make a radio system that feeds the amplified signal from this into an amplitude moderator… is this diagram correct?
also, could someone explain what the parts do in detail? i kinda just looked through a tutorial to do it so i’m not quite sure
It won't work at all with C2 in place. Remove C2 and connect R4 directly to the collector of Q1.
Please post links to the microphone and modulator product pages and/or data sheets.
The gain R4/R5 (~5) is probably not adequate, and you probably need a DC blocking capacitor between the amplifier output and the modulator input.
That is a classic design and there are many tutorials on line explaining it in detail. This one, for example.
It would be very usefull to know what type of microphone you have (dynamic/electret)
R1 suggests electret, R1 is not needed (bad) for dynamic.

I think 'suggests' is not the best starting point to design a amplifier...
So maybe OP can tell what he actually has.
NO. C2 is in the wrong place. Also R2/R3 gives 0.9V at Q1base, so c 0.2V across R5 and 1V across R4 so biasing is OK ish. However the circuit wont give you much gain; you could bypass R5 with a cap to get more.
Have you calculated capacitor sizes for filtering or are they just random?
