RCWL-0516 modules not working as advertised

Hi everyone

I just bought 3 RCWL-0516 modules from funduino that i thought was a good supplier. I'm wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with them ?

I power it up with an uno via 5v and the out pin connected to a digital input on the uno. Couldn't be simpler really.

The problem is it detects motion when powering on, and after that only when i physical turn the device and even then not always. It has never detected me.
I've done quite a lot of tests between 0 and 10m or so now and it has never detected me or any other movement.
All the posts I've found about this module say that it's TOO sensitive !

Any ideas ?

Have to ask, you are connecting gnd also, right?

Please share your sketch and a connection diagram

does it detect a metal pan, or panel?
