Read canbus messages using sn65hvd230

Hey Guys,

Rebuilding an old lost project. I want to use a sn65hvd230(not the square chip, but the one with 2 screw terminals) to read canbus messages from my car ecu.

Cant for the life of me remember how i did it years back.

ive been googling and trying the whole day but im running out of ideas.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

That sounds like a module, I have not seen any CAN chips with screw terminals. Look for something like the MPC2515 module. The CAN transceiver is not critical, it just needs to match the voltage of its controlloer.
