Hello, I am doing a project relating to using ultracapacitor for vehicle acceleration and regenerative braking. The capacitor and battery work in series during acceleration and supercapacitor retrieves all the regeneration energy. I have drawn the circuit and wonder if this will work for my purpose. Thank you.
I think the posted circuit is unworkable.
Whether the concept is workable depends on many key details that you failed to specify.

You appear to have made a welder, in that when the capacitor is shorted out, or shorted to the battery
by one of the switches, it will be spot-welded or exploded by the sudden rush of high current.
Voltage sources should not be shorted out like this.
Also the capacitor definitely not in series with the battery - if it were then that might well be workable,
given a diode to prevent over-discharging the capacitor.
Battery in series with cap, diode parallel to cap.
