Relay module is not working with arduino

@LarryD

Hello Larry, Recently I have seen your post in one of the topic and I need the similar solution but for 12v relay module. I tried few things but not working as expected.

Here is the image I got from one of your post... and I tried the same way but not working.

Am I connected properly or anything missing?

I need to use the same like above but for 12v relay module. Please help me on this.

One more thing I didn't understand why we need to connect 12v DC to the pin A5 through resistors. Is it really required to drive the relay?

If you have it connected as in post #8 and #16 then you don't need any circuit to drive the relay.

Hi, @chandu-mca06

Can you please post some pictures of your project?
So we can see your component layout.

Do you have a DMM? (Digital MultiMeter)

Thanks.. Tom.. :grinning: :+1: :coffee: :australia:

@LarryD Hello Larry, Can you please help me on this?

Which Arduino are you using? Is it still working (will it run the blink program)?

On the pictures in post # 8, I don't see any terminals or jumper block. Are the opto and transistor in the schematic external to the relay?

I am using Arduino nano. Yes blink sketch is working fine.

I connected the relay as same as in the diagram at post#25. All connections are same except A5 pin. I didn't use A5 in my project but rest of the connections are same.

Let’s do a reset.

  • As requested, do you have a Digital Multi Meter ?
  • Please give us a link to the relay module you have.
  • We need to see the actual wiring showing good images of all connections.
  • Measure the 5 and 12 voltages, what are they.

Let's start with this schematic:

So, you have a barefoot relay, not the relay module you inferred.
I'm done, good luck.

This is all you need:

Yes it is working now as expected. i missed to connect both grounds .

Thank you @LarryD :slightly_smiling_face:

This circuit also working great. Thanks for the quick response. :+1::+1: :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:
