Request for SSD Bootloader Files and Configuration Guide

Hi, Arduino Team,

Could you please provide the necessary bootloader files and a step-by-step configuration guide for booting VENTUNO Q from an SSD?

Thank you!

Hey, according to Qualcomm's IQ8275 documentation: NVMe (non-bootable)
Maybe they will work with Arduino to update UEFI firmware?

I wrote small script to work around this limitation, this was also done on Nvidia Jetson devices on Jetson Nano/Xavier before they added NVMe booting on newer devices.

Basically we change rootfs to NVMe, but bootloader (UEFI/GRUB) stays on eMMC.

You can check the script on my Github or more detailed description on my blog.

This is what I did to play games on Ventuno to make OS faster.

I also wanted to make YT video about this root from NVMe installtion, let me know if you want it :D

Just to disclose as I did in other thread, when I was doing earlier versions of the rootfs to NVMe migration script, I had to resort to reflashing my Ventuno :eyes: (it's working!)

I will test this script again on my second Ventuno soon :slightly_smiling_face:
If there are other people wanting to test these, I'll be happy, mainly what I want to test/research how well it does kernel updates, apt updates(these should be fine) and Ubuntu upgrades, maybe there will be need for some additional service setup?

The best solution would be of course official Qualcomm firmware update (if possible) to allow booting from NVMe, but hey on some Nvidia Jetsons they ran this rootfs solutions for years so...
