rotary encoders question

Hello Ballscrewbob. I am working project and I have a question that you might know the answer to "if I may?"
I am building a racing wheel on a pro micro and my 4 rotary encoder are connected as show in the image.
No 1 on pine RX & TX, No 2 on pin 2 & 3, No 3 on pine 4 & 5 and No 4 on pine 6 & 7 and they all sharing the same ground.
My question is, do I have to use the pines TX & RX for the rotary? I am asking because I need the pine TX & RX to connect a Nextion Display so could I move the encoder No 1 to pine 8 & 9 Instead?

I think that's a seperate topic altogether and meant for another part of the forum where more qualified members can give you a better response.

Just don't forget that D0 & D1 are also used by most boards USB port during uploading or other serial communications.
