Saeco Aulika EVO RFID reader

Hello!

We have a Saeco Aulika EVO automatic coffee machine at the company. By default it could communicate with a "Comestero Apollo" RFID reader using a 4 pin connector.
We don't have this rfid reader, so we thought we would use an arduino for this.

I couldn't find any schematics for the Apollo reader nor the coffee machine.

How could I identify the 4 pins of the coffee machine? What pins of the arduino should I connect to those pins?

I should be able to enable and lock the buttons on the machine, also read the user selected coffee type.

Thanks in advance for the help!

As an RFID reader is classed as an intentional emitter and if it has FCC approval all you need to know is the FCC approval number. It should be on some label on the product or the reader.

Search the web for this number and you will get the FCC file for the company who made it. In that file will be the schematics.

The coffee machine was bought as refurbished, I can't find any labels or stickers on it.
As for the Apollo RFID reader, we don't have one so I can't find a label on it.

Also, both the coffee machine and the rfid system are Italian. I don't even know if they have an FCC number because this FCC is an American thing if I'm not mistaken.

Quite right but if a company wants to sell stuff in the US it has to be FCC approved. Many companies do take this step.

Otherwise you are just going to have to reverse engineer it.start of by looking at the signals from your reader with an oscilloscope and see what they carry.

The only label I've found is on the inside, but it's only a model name, a serial number and a barcode. There is no FCC number on it unfortunatelly.
