Scrolling all text before starting over MD_MAX7219

I can't seem to figure out how to scroll a complete message all the way across my led matrix before starting a new message. For example I have 16 8x8 LED for a total of 128 columns. I'm displaying my IP address as 192:168:001:125 and I'd like that to run completely off the left hand side before it starts over on the right hand side of the display. How do I accomplish this? Thanks in advance. This is my code and currently "2:168:001:128" is displayed on the left hand side when the "1" appears on the right hand side. Thanks in advance.

Finally figured it out. Changed the following:

showLen = ( * p != '\0' ? CHAR_SPACING : (MAX_DEVICES * COL_SIZE) / 2);

to

showLen = ( * p != '\0' ? CHAR_SPACING : (MAX_DEVICES * COL_SIZE) );
