Selection/use of an Arduino shield

Hi!
I have an Aurduino UNO connected to 6 photo resistors + 6 resistors, 1 RTC DS1302 and 1 SD card using a breadboard. I'd like to solder all the connections to take up less space and make my circuit more solid, but this is something I have never done before...
Can you please give some advice on what is the best shield to use? Any idea how to connect the SD card and the RTC?
Thank you

I use like this:

You can buy a data logging shield which has the RTC and SD card already fitted ( plus a couple of leds and prototyping space )
Sparkfun/eBay… pays yer money …

First make a prototype using a breadboard checking the function of the project. When that works, go for the final build.
