Self-balancing bike - inertia wheel isn't secure and slides off

Hi everyone,
I assembled the inertia wheel as shown in the video. The issue I'm having is that the circled piece below doesn't seem secure/tight, meaning that the entire inertia wheel assembly can just slide along the motor's shaft.

If I run the motor, the inertia wheel slides and hits the bottom of the bike as shown below:

How do you tighten it to prevent it from sliding?

Place spacer on spindle, add 3 (THREE) wheels, finger tighten screw on retainer, using a screw insert in hole in retainer and tighten so that the wheels are held on but not so tight as to prrevent them from rotating.

These Arduino kits are statistically perfect. Every instruction, every hardware size, every step is important and you are skipping steps to get it done, faster, just as in your other topic where you are using the wrong screws in the wrong place.

  1. Start again. Yes... dismantle your project.
  2. Read the instructions completely.
  3. Separate, measure and verify your hardware.
  4. Label everything.

RTFM (Read The Fine Manual).
