Sensors for HHO project

Hello all,

I am currently working on an HHO project.

For those who do not know what HHO is: It is basically the gas produced by electrolysis of water without separation. This gas can be used for welding and that is what I am doing with it.

The system I have built works fine, however now I want to add a few sensors:

a) Gas pressure sensor (mbar range up to 1-2 bar)
b) Gas flow sensor
c) Hydrogen gas concentration sensor.

With the first sensor I want to measure the pressure within the electrolysis cell.

With the second sensor I want to measure the gas output of the cell.

The third sensor is actual not needed as I am using the cell in an very well ventilated area, however just for the sake of absolute safety I would like to monitor the hydrogen gas concentration in the area.

Has anyone recommendations regarding sensors?

Kr,

Andreas

How do you prevent the flame from jumping into the hose, travelling into the cell, and blowing everything up? This mixture is highly explosive!

There are lots of pressure sensors and flow sensors. Do you have more specific requirements to help
limit the choice? You haven't said what the flow rate you want is. The choice of hose is most likely to
affect which devices are most suitable since they need to be physically connected!

With electrolysis you'll need sensors that are unaffected by damp acidic gasses I suspect.
