Serial terminal software that has more features than bray's terminal

Hello everybody,

I want to repeat what is written in the title:

I am searching for a serial terminal software that has more features than bray's terminal version 2013.

So what functions / features does bray's terminal have?

  • pre-definable request / response
    image

  • macros (repeatable with specifiying an interval)
    image

  • scripting

If you take the time to not only post the name of the serial terminal software but a feature list like above I appreciate that very much.

It would help to know which extra features you are looking for rather than us just posting a list of alternative serial monitors

bray's terminal scans for COM-Ports on startup. But is unable to re-scan if the software is already running. There is a scan for COM-port-function but you only see a message
"access denied"

I assume (= not knowing) this is caused by the age of the software 2013

So the feature is

  • always successfully re-scanning the available com-ports
  • start a new logfile once per hour, once per 24 hours

What do you want to happen if a COM port becomes available or unavailable ?

if it becomes available ideal: optional activating a popup-message found "COM-Port #"
or COM-port will be found on button "scan for COM-Ports"

if a COM-Port becomes unavailable ideal: popup-message COM-Port # not available
at least deactivated, greyed out or something similar

I imagine that an emulator with a script language may well be able to do what you describe. Many, many years ago I used a terminal emulator named Reflection 4, which has a script language, albeit using what amounts to BASIC, to run performance tests on a mainframe system and it did all that I needed and more
