Servo arm issue

Im designing a spring release mechanism using Servo arms im having a problem that whenever the springs are pushing the arms up the servo. They are lifted from the mechanism as the screws are too loose. (Cant find best ones) does anyone know what I could do to try and fix this? The servo model is Micro Servo 9g.

Hi, @jdjwubs626
Welcome to the forum.

First we need to see your project.

Can you post images so we can see the problem?

Thanks.. Tom.... :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Use Loctite on the screws

Thank you so much for this im going to try it!

Thanks a lot i dont have a perfect image but this is the part the two cylinders are where the spring will be and they are loaded by the servo which is in that part as well so they essentially push out the arm forward. Thanks for any help!

Also for the loctite is it between the arm and the servo or on top of the arm?

On the screw threads or in the screw hole.

I can't make any sense of the illustrations or the text describing them

You are trying to describe in words something we have no idea about.

Its not loaded but the arms normally are over the springs

What's not loaded? And what do you mean by 'loaded'?

If the servo arms are 'over' the springs then how will they make contact with them?

No likę they hold the springs down.

Not in the picture you've shown us they don't!

So which screw is getting loose, the ones that hold servo or the one that holds servo horn?

loctite will keep screws from turning loose but not from being pulled out. You may need to glue the arm to the shaft with superglue.

Well yea it doesnt work properly thats the problem

Hopefully only after you have the arms positioned correctly...

They spin….

So just glue the arm and screw together i kinda tried that with hot glue which was a big mistake

Hot glus is no good. Use super glue but turn the servo upside down when you do, so that the glue does not run down the shaft and glue it to the housing
