Servo recommendation for spinning kitty litter box

Hello all, I am stuck trying to find the right servo that has enough torque/speed to spin a kitty litter box? I also thought using a cordless drill motor but the noise might be too much and scare them. Any thoughts, recomenations?

Have you measured how much torque you need ?

There is a suggestion for a simple measuring method in this Stepper thread. I am NOT suggesting that a stepper is appropriate.

I presume the cylinder needs to rotate very slowly.

I need some speed, there is a little bit of centripetal force needed for this. In case anyone is not familiar. There is a grated catcher on one side of the barrel. If you spin it around, the kitty mixed with poop spins around through the catcher, shifting poop/clumps while leaving the kitty litter to spin. If it moved slowly, the kitty litter would not make the trip. If it was too weak and there was too much mass due to urine soaked clumped cat litter, it would just grind the motor. Sorry if to descriptive...

I don't know how I would measure other than someone's experience and luck?

Too much information

Drill motor is actually fairly quiet if not run through a gearbox - How about belt drive to gear down,
you'll have enough power to work with (I've made a 200kg can-crusher using a 30W DC motor, drill
motors can be more powerful than that)

Sounds like a very efficient way to make a disgusting mess to me!

Black & Decker makes a 6v four AA battery cordless screwdriver that has been available at walmart for $10 or less. It has a good bit of torque.
