Stainless steel (SS) rods with attached SS screws has been presented a few times in this thread.

Below is a discussion describing how to silver solder a SS screw to the SS rod.

What we need to do is keep the rod in the same plane as the threads on the screw.

Two equal sized .06” thick aluminum plates are aligned and clamped together.

Three inline 2 mm holes are drilled in the plates.

The top and bottom plates will now have perfectly aligned holes.

Drill a 1/4” extraction hole to the left of the center hole in the bottom plate.

The two plates are held together and separated by brass standoffs.

A short brass standoff is added to the center hole of the bottom plate as seen in the below images.

Add a 1/4” aluminum washer to the top of the middle brass standoff then screw your SS M2 screw through the washer into the standoff.

The aluminum washer prevents silver solder from getting on the brass standoff and the threads of the screw.

The SS rod is inserted through the top plate and into the top screw opening.

A blow torch is needed to melt silver solder.

You must add silver solder flux to the SS rod and screw top.

Use sandpaper to clean the silver solder wire then add flux to the end.

Using the tip of the inside blue flame from the torch, melt a small amount of solder to the junction of the rod and the screw top.

Let cool and unscrew the rod, remove the assembly through the extraction hole in the bottom plate.
