SIM800 compatibility in Canada?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if the SIM800 module can be used in Canada? I see that it is a 2G GSM Network, and as far as I know 2G networks are obsolete here. Does anyone have nay experience with this?

If they are obsolete, does anyone know of any decently priced alternatives? (<$100..)

The 2G network will be supported in Canada till the end of 2020 (according to Rogers) but they cannot garantee the coverage...

You should consider to buy a 3G module like the SIM5320.
