SIM800L EVB not connecting to network

Hi, I'm trying to use a SIM800L EVB module to connect to GSM with my Arduino UNO. I've tried both powering it directly from the Arduino and with a 3.7V battery and a Step Up converter (here's the link). The module boots up and responds to serial commands, but it never connects to the network. What am I doing wrong?

I read where the UF.L/IPX (?) has a high failure rate after repeat connecting/disconnecting. Try the solder-in antenna?

I don't think i can (ora have to) solder it, it has a specific connector as you can see in the picture

Looks new. Probably not an antenna issue. Verify your SIM card is valid... somewhere online is a network tester sketch for the SIM800L..

Right now my setup is the one you can see in the picture

I have a 3000 mAh 1C 3.7V LiPo battery connected to a DC-DC step-up converter, then connected to the SIM800L EVB and to the board, but still can't connect to the network. Is it possible to assume it's still a powering issue?
My SIM card is valid, it's the SIM I'm currently using on my phone

As long as the battery is rated for 2.0 Ampere at 3.7vdc to 4.2vdc (it should be... all our cellular phones use very similar batteries).

I am still looking for that "what stage of connection" sketch out there... it has more information than "blinking LED"...

And... your setup should work, 100%, so there is only a little piece missing, and I probably overlooked it... so I am reading this tutorial (link) on the SIM800L (it is rather long), too.

... but that does not look like the EVB.... (link)

There is also this mod to the board and the library for EVB.

Yeah, unfortunately I've read both of them but they're about different versions, it seems there's very few documentation about the EVB

Thank you, i didn't find this one, I'll try it. Maybe the problem is that capacitor, I'll try to put another one

Would you measure the power pins at the SIM800L (orange and green wire) during attempted operation? I wonder if the buck converter is taking enough power to make the power supplied too low.

And here (link) is one of the network test pages (not the one I like, but can't find that one)

May be one cause that Sim800l is 2G Module and maybe your area do not support's it.

@bernard99 is using the SIM from the phone. (post #5)

Yes I missed it.
Give me moment editing post

The OP stated in post #5 the SIM is currently IN USE. Are going to re-edit all of your posts?

Sorry for answering just now but I had some trouble. This page doesn't work anyway, I just reach some random scam pages but nothing useful. Today I'll try the modified library for my module, and I've bought some capacitors so in these days I'll try them too
