usually I'm programming with my Acer 15 inch notebook (AMD x64 based, Windows 11). I'm just thinking about a small system, also x86 compatible (neither ARM not Apple M processor), so either a notebook or just an PC in USB stick format (I also have a small BT keyboard with touchpad and I may use an existing display).
Does someone have any experience with "mobile" development? The IDE should be good readable but the system should not be to big, also I do not need a high speed system, but Windows 11 should be possible for beeing up to date.
I don't like a Linux based system because my sketches are currently on a Windows system so it should be not to complicated to use an USB thumb drive for copying between both systems.
Hi,
don't misunderstand me, I'm not a Linux hater. But I would like to have the same environment on both systems since I also use an USB to ICSP adapter with a special driver it would be easier to have both systems the same (also Linux is case sensitive which might but should not be a problem sometimes):
I'm just looking for a small system. For Linux also a Raspberry Pi should do the trick but I'm not sure if there is a driver for this dongle. That is one reason why I'm looking for a Win system.
It seems there are not many people using a tiny notebook or an other small system I'll look around for a small light weight notebook.
For $20 more I could have bought a Windows 10 system at the same store. Same thing, small business laptop. Nobody wants them anymore, the prices are great.
I put Linux on mine because it had Win98 which has no support any more.
Hi, just an update, currently I also use an old, 12 inch notebook and installed Linux Mint. I transfer the used sketch and libraries via an USB thumb drive and this works great. Maybe I'll keep this setting.
Thank you
