SMPS Connection.

Hi all. Can you explain how to use these SMPS (attached image)?

24v: (L) (N) (GND) (COM) (COM) (+V) (+V)
12v: (L) (N) (GND) (-V) (+V)

I think L &N is for AC input.
What is GND? Is it for AC GND or DC Gnd?
What is COM - COM outputs?

Detailed explanation is appreciated. Thanks

For the single 12V supply:
L for AC Live (Black Wire)
N for AC Neutral (White Wire)
Gnd for AC Ground (Green Wire)
V- for +12V Ground
V+ for +12V Supply

For the dual 24V supply:
L for AC Live (Black Wire)
N for AC Neutral (White Wire)
Gnd for AC Ground (Green Wire)
COM,COM for 24V Ground
V+ for +24V Supply A
V+ for +24V Supply B

Thank you johnwasser.

I have this kind of plug (attached) and it has 2 wires at the end.

What should i do then?

You think you should be messing with 110+ volts if you don't know what it is?

I am trying to learn

I have also another cable which have 3 wires inside. But i know this kind of plugs are used with 220v.

What is that switch mode device you're using? Looks pretty mean :astonished:

MODEL: S-150-24
AC/IN: (110V / 220V) +- (15%)
DC/OUT: (24V) - (6.5A)

MODEL: S-40-12
INPUT: (87-254V AC) - (1.18A) - (47-63 HZ)
OUTPUT: (+12V) - (3.5A)

Have any idea about 2 wires cable?

Your "Europlug" wall plug does not include a GND wire (green or AC GND). All "europlug" type that I know about are unearthed except the one that the Swiss use (well, my experience, being American is somewhat limited too...). The Swiss one is basically a Europlug with an extra off center "earth" pin.

It is considered "less safe" to not have a chassis earth ground on a metal frame enclosure.
