i found this stepper motor in my old scanner and wanted to try it out in my arduino. I loaded the example files on the board and nothing happened.
is there anyway I ca use this motor with my arduino and motor shield? can i connect a higher voltage to the motor shield without burning any components? the motor i found is a 24 volt. here is the schematic for the motor. I'm kinda new on this thing but i want to learn any help would be appreciated. motor m35sp-9t .M35SP-9 Datasheet(PDF) - Mitsumi Electronics, Corp.
Can you show us how you have it wired up? The stepper you linked to appears to be a unipolar motor (with five wires). One of those wires will be unused if you want to use it with a bipolar driver.
its only four wires and i connected it like this image (same color) but if you look at the data sheet its working voltage is 21.6-24.6 volts . Arduino motor/stepper/servo control - How to use --- stepper part image.
Draw a diagram of how you have it connected or minimally take a picture and label the wires. With questions like yours it always comes down to providing enough detail until the problem is seen and then someone will provide your solution.
