Whenever I power on the HC05, it is visible to my PC and connects then says 'not connected' after about 2 seconds. How do I get it to stay connected?

What version of Windows is on the PC?
Does it have a BT dongle or is built in?
What procedure did you follow pair and connect the HC05 and the PC?
Did you create the BT Port?

Bluetooth is built in
I tried pairing VCC->5V, GRD->GRD, TX->RX, RX->TX, but i also tried the method with the 1k and 2k resistors. I've also tried putting in AT and have tried resetting and still no luck.
No I did not create the BT port and do not actually know what that means.
I appreciate your help!

This worked once, but now i cannot get it to work again
