ULN2003 Stepper Motor driver flashing lights

I’ve got a ULN2003 stepper motor driver connected to a 28BYJ-48 stepper motor connected to arduino uno with a separate 5v power supply connected to the motor driver board.

Here’s my code:

// Stepper - Version: Latest
#include <Stepper.h>
#define STEPS 2038

Stepper stepper(STEPS, 9, 10, 11, 12);

void setup(){
//nothing
}

void loop(){
stepper.setSpeed(50);
stepper.step(2038);
delay(1000);
stepper.step(-2038);
}

I’ll admit, I am a newb at this…

So I can get some basic code to turn on and off the coils on the inside and spin the motor clockwise or counter clockwise, but when I try to run my code the red lights on my board flash and the motor doesn’t spin. The lights labeled “A” and “C” remain solid, but “B” and “D” flash. It may be worth noting that the flashing lights flash in sync with the lil yellow flashing light on the Arduino.

Thanks in advance for your response!

Barring a hardware problem, 1 second between steps on a highly geared stepping motor movement can be hard to detect.

Confirm the motor wires are where they should be.

You may have blown the 2003.

Show us a good schematic of your circuit.
Show us a good image of your wiring.

Stepper is powered fom the same source as your ardunio and your powersupply gives in?

My schematic looks something like this (this is directly from the stepper motor user manual):

http://eeshop.unl.edu/pdf/Stepper+Driver.pdf

The stepper motor has its own power source @ 9v.

Right at the top of page 5 there's a wiring diagram and below that the code that I use. That code works flawlessly, the motor spins just fine. So I do believe it is something with my programming. Ill keep working with the code, try to make it run faster.

Thanks for the help!
