Hello all,
I have got a new Portenta X8. I was going through its user manual and performing the first getting started, which is "Setup with the Arduino Linux Wizard."
I have followed the steps to:
- navigate to www.arduino.cc/start
- Create an account and download the Arduino Create Agent. This agent is working fine and running from the system tray.
It is the next step that is giving an error. I have connected the Portenta X8 to my PC using a USB-A to USB-C cable. I can see that it is detected as 'COM6' port in the device manager and on the Arduino IDE. I have uploaded code to the Portenta X8 M4 core using the Arduino IDE.
However, it is in the Arduino Linux Wizard that the board is not getting detected. Very weird, given that it is being detected everywhere else.
I looked into the Portenta X8 manual and even upgraded the OS Image from 674 to 934, following the steps and using the UUU Tool. I checked with adb shell, the Image version has been upgraded to 934.
However, the error of the board not getting detected on the Arduino Linux Wizard still persists.
I also tried the same thing using the Arduino Cloud app. There, I used the add device option, which detects the Arduino Create Agent and the Portenta X8, but then pops an error saying the Device is not compatible.
The error screenshots are attached. The screen recording is also attached.
