Unknown/Deleted User - who is?

I posted earlier today in a thread. Now, I have a 'like' showing on that post, but the like is attributed to "Unknown/Deleted User" - How is that possible? Can one be an "Unknown User"? My suspicion is, this is a hidden staff member, but I'm curious.

Post #2 in this thread, if anyone investigates:

And, actually, I received a notification of that like, and it's attributed to a named user in the notification. So something (trivial) is wrong with the like attributing on the forum - a known user liked something, but he shows up as Unknown/Deleted User.
Weird.

The user may have "ignore"d you. I see user information - I do not know if it is the same user.

Possibly, though I know of no reason why that particular member would have - he's 'liked' many other posts of mine, and I don't recall any 'blowups'. Still, it may be related in some way to that.

May be he liked your post and then was banned for anything else?

I think spam accounts can be deleted - so maybe the 'like' was from a spammer, and their account got deleted?

Can you see two "normal" people liking your post or just one?

I see 2 people:

We don't see the names of the people who have liked your post in the way that you do.

When we hover over the heart, we only get the option to like your post:

...and if we then go on to like the post, we get the option to "undo like".

If you hover over the number (not the "heart"), it will show you the names - see post #8

I only get "2 people liked this post" if I hover over the number.

but clicking on the number does bring up the names/avatars.

I hadn't realised the number and the heart were 2 seperate entities.

I want to know if @camsysca can see these two people or there's a third unseen person.

I see the quantity two; when I click, I get the blank, grey dot and another avatar; when I hover over the grey dot, it's named "unknown/deleted user", whereas the second one has a user known to me.
Thing is, when I look at my notifications|likes, both users are correctly called out. It's weird.

Anyway, it's probably something smelly at the Discourse level, not to do with this particular forum. Once I figured out I could see who it was via other means, it's not an issue. Really, it's not an issue anyway, just a curious little bug on the road of life.

That's the trouble with modern UI design - so many hidden features.

Noted today, he's liking my posts again. Weird.
Have a suspicion it's an alias of someone on the forum who's known.
