I’ve flashed my Uno Q nine times this morning. I can’t begin to explain how frustrating an experience this has been…
The past couple days I’d get board errors, updates not downloading, examples failing (/run.sh: 39: .: cannot open /app/.cache/.venv/bin/activate: No such file) - just a whole slew of problems as others have gone through.
However, this morning I’m now unable to get past the failed “Error checking for updates: board update error” after entering my WiFi credentials, which means I can’t even set up the Linux password. Reconnected, restarted App Lab, reflashed, etc. - nothing fixes this. Thus my Uno Q is practically useless.
Any ideas? Should I just put this thing in a closet for a month and come back and try again?

I had a few times where it failed to upload changes. Although in my case
Start Arduino IDE - make sure you have the current release of the board.
plugged into Q into USB. Wait for it to boot up.
And hopefully that works...
And then see if things work for you.

Please download and install the Android Platform tools from https://developer.android.com/tools/releases/platform-tools .
Connect the board to your Mac/PC via a USB-C cable.
Open a terminal window and type:adb shell
You are now connected to the board.
From there type:sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
Wait for the upgrade to finish.
Close the terminal window.
Relaunch the App Lab.
Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

It is because the Uno Q (and the Portenta X8, too) uses ADB as a low-level backend to interface with the board. Using ADB allows you to interact with the board just using a USB cable.

Thank you. Sorry for the first deleted post. The first couple tries apparently had connectivity issues. The third try seems to have updated/installed everything. I relaunched App Lab and it said it was checking for updates, then that window disappeared and I was able to create the Linux password. App Lab opened normally to the examples.
I opened the Blink LED and ran it. The App Launch monitor window showed a lot of stuff (below) and after about 5 minutes the app seems to have successfully launched and worked. I have not tried any of the others yet.

The library MsgPack has been automatically added from sketch project.

Also I can connect up to my board using KiTTY (or PuTTy), this is KiTTY
Edit And if you wish to transfer files between your PC and the Q, KiTTy has

Please try flashing the board with the latest image. See https://docs.arduino.cc/tutorials/uno-q/update-image/ for the how-to tutorial.

Before you launch the App Lab, please connect to the board via adb and check if its connectivity is working. A simple ping is enough.
ping 8.8.8.8
If it is not working, you can check if the WiFi is connected with the nmcli tool
nmcli device wifi list
should output

Good evening, I see that it is a common fault, and even though they already released the Uno Q 4Gb , I have the one of 2Gb flashed to the board, connect it just fine as SBC mode, but found that there is a partition called Arduino, which is not mounted and has as root user or super user
