uploading problem

Hi all,
I'm new to this and have no idea what I'm doing and wondering if anybody can help?
I did a sketch and it verified OK when uploading it to the uno it hangs up and comes up with a error message. the uno board is selected and on the uno the green light does not come on any ideas?
Arduino: 1.6.5 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino Uno"

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
enabled in File > Preferences.

It probably was expecting another USB port. Try to select another com.

I've tried other usb ports but no luck, I tried to change the port in the software but it will only look at com1.

I am new at this and had similar problem - today. I am using a Uno board from China which I got off eBay. I found if I install these drivers (on Windows 7) it fixed the problem.

(I needed to use the driverset64 exe by copying it into the main folder).

Hope this helps but note I am far from an expert!.
