Use Olimex ESP8266-DEV

Hi,
i'm looking for a wifi board for my arduino projects.
I've bought ESP8266-DEV MOD-WIFI-ESP8266-DEV - Open Source Hardware Board (it is a wrong buy, i'd like to buy ESP8266), can you give a tutorial on how to use this module? is it different from ESP8266? can you give me compare scheme pinout ESP8266-DEV vs ESP8266?

Thanks

The board you bought has the ESP8266(EX) chip on it. All the boards ESP-01 to ESP-12E are just different configurations of the same chip. The one you got is good as it exposes a lot of the pins.

Do you plan to connect an Arduino to it or use it standalone.

Either way, your best resource for starting out is to use the ESP8266.com forum.

The pin out is in the schematic: https://www.olimex.com/Products/IoT/MOD-WIFI-ESP8266-DEV/resources/MOD-WIFI-ESP8266-DEV_schematic.pdf

No need to compare them, the breakout boards might have them in a different order (and a few additional IO) that is all.

Hi,
i need to connect that board to Arduino mega.

I'm looking for a guide/tutorial on how to connect esp8266-dev to arduino and how to write a program in arduino ide (maybe exists a library). I haven't found a scheme for now, do you know how to connect the boards? Many tutorials in internet are using standard esp8266 (no olmex esp8266-dev).

I'll ask on esp8266.com forum also, thank you.
