Good idea. It's just that there could be issues if you have a long cable on the printer.
No more than 6 inches, plus the PCB tracks, of course....
EDIT : It's actually more like 12 inches, but I have the connectors and can shorten it if need be ....
No, Just describing my unusual experience. I'll take a look sometime at those brief input pulses; maybe they are peaking significantly below 5 V.
And at about £2.50 per device it's not exactly a big deal.
Yes, sometimes I forget this is just hobby stuff and it's not that critical
