What do you do when you are not doing Arduinos?

I go out mountain unicycling

Mountains in UK? Come on over here, out West, if you really want to see some mountains.

I have three little boys and an old house to take care of so I have very little of what you call spare time. But I try to practice judo a couple of times a week and sometimes I go running. At summertimes I like to go rock climbing, but on recent years I have managed to do it only a few times a summer.

Yeah, ok not many mountains. Slightly bumpy off road unicycling then (hill unicycling perhaps). I would love to have some mountains nearby but it is not to be.

Looking at porn.... urmmmmm... did I mention looking at porn. :o  ::slight_smile:

Cycling or walking when I can, catching the odd live band and struggle to grow house plants.

did I mention looking at porn.

Yep you did... /b/? lol

and struggle to grow house plants.

I can see another arduino project coming on ;D

Mowcius

Arduino is what I do when I'm not doing less pleasant things (20million lines of code, 46000 files, (in each of about 100 branches), too much process, too much management, too much politics...)

I go out mountain unicycling

... :-? unicycling? :-/

Cycle, Play badminton, EAT, SLEEP, laze around  , Read & Write

Sleep. Lots of it.

unicycling?

Yep, unicycling...

SLEEP

Sleep. Lots of it.

Sounds good, where do you buy that from then?

Well I thought any form of cycling would throw it in for free

do you have any pics of your unicycle? i went cycling in the mountains last year(the Himalayas) man it was a pain with 2 wheels and I'm thinking mountain unicycling????? um.... :-X

I have: idontunicycleoncue.blogspot.com but it has not been updated for about 2 months.
I will try to update it this evening.

It is a 24" Qu-Ax. Not too expensive (£300 ish new) but it is good fun.

Mowcius

Looks to be great fun. Do you do this? how do you climb on steep gradients? something like on a horse?

something like on a horse?

I don't see any relation between a horse and a unicycle

To go up steep gradients it is just like a low geared bike so it is not that difficult. There aren't any steep gradients near me anyway so it is not a problem. The lack of steep gradients could be seen as a problem though becuase there are no mountains which is a bit annoying...

On horseback on mountain paths you have to lean forward/backward to keep your balance and to avoid getting thrown down and i thought the something like that might be the case here.. anyways you've got me hooked on to this. I've been watching too many videos. only there doesn't seem to be any unicycles around where i live. So will have to wait before i can try or perhaps build one.

I have never ridden a horse but sounds like there may be a small sismilarity here then.
There aren't any unicycles where I live either. The best place to start would probably be looking on forums for a second hand one. If you get a cheap one then it'll be ok but if you get a second hand good one then it will be much better but will have some scratches.
I think some of the videos got me hooked too!

Mowcius

Riding a unicycle is just like riding a horse. The main point is not to fall off.

I think the main point of anything like that is to have fun
The concept of staying on the unicycle is not always the main objective... ;D

But I've never heard of anyone being... kicked, bitten, thrown off, stepped-on or having their stuff stolen ...by a unicycle! ;D

Man horses irritate me! >:(
