What is the best mechanism for controlling a mouse-size door on a tube?

If you have access to a 3d printer you could print a FLAP VALVE which can be any size you wish (almost)
Of course there are others such as a GATE VALVE

Thing is you can also trigger these with simple mechanical objects such as springs etc.
That would mean you do not always need a servo or Arduino.
