What is your source for Nano board mounting screws

Greetings. I am working with an Arduino Nano for the first time. Would someone PLEASE tell me the screws I should use in that board and where to source them? I know it is a 1.8 mm hole size per the schematic. I would assume most use a 1.8 mm tap to create a thread for the screw?

Thanks.

Bruce

Welcome to the forum

Why not use 1.5mm nuts and bolts ?
Trying to tap the holes in the board sounds like a bad idea and in any case a 1.8mm tap would be too small and the holes are very close to the edge of the board so will break out very easily

Most people don't use those holes at all, instead they solder the header pins to a proto board with some alternate mounting method, or plug it into header sockets on an I/O adapter board.

If 1.5mm works I’m all over it. I wasn’t intending to tap the board, just the mounting surface underneath it. I’m using it in a fashion that does not allow for the use of nuts. Do you have a source for 1.5mm bolts? Thanks for your reply.

Globally? Because this is an international forum. The answer would be different for example, England, or Indonesia.

Sorry, no. USA

Did you try Google? McMaster-Carr?

Amazon. They go down to M2. They also sell M2/.8 pitch tap and die.

USA is also global, if you don't happen to live there.

Actually I meant 1.5mm diameter bolts. I found a source I think. Thanks.

Yes of course and Grainger and Tacoma screw and ….

I found them at MetricScrews.US. Any experience with them?

No, I buy nuts and bolts locally.

*globally.

I like to also. But no store around her will carry a M1.6 x 5 mm which is what I ordered.

Not unless you want to walk a long way, to the store.

Unless it will be connected to a larger board I use 3M double sided foam tape. If connecting to a larger board a few soldered board to board solid wires will do the trick.

Remember the Nano is not very heavy.

ACE Hardware

Ace is remarkably hard to beat. But if they’ve got a 1.5mm x 5 mm I would be extremely impressed.

Just because the size of the hole is quoted in mm does not mean that you have to use a bolt sized in mm. An Imperial bolt of the appropriate size will still go through a 1.8mm hole

You should be looking for a #2-56 X 3/16
