I have successfully destroyed a Nano while probing around for voltages with my multimeter while neglecting to notice that the leads were set up for the 10 Amp range. A tiny Schottky diode emitted a puff of smoke and that was it. This technique is, incidentally, not unique to a Nano. It can be successfully employed on other boards with similar ease.
