Where to start

Im doing a project and know nothing about the Arduino but was told that it would work for my project.

What my project is: I am making a alarm clock that gets you out of bed instead of always pushing the snooze.

The alarm goes off and in order to turn it off you would have to walk by a motion detector in your house that you place where ever you want.
What i need help with is some wiring and programming i have basic knowledge in electronics

"The alarm goes off and in order to turn it off you would have to walk by a motion detector in your house that you place where ever you want."

So move the clock over there.

Sounds interesting.
Have you selected your motion sensor? Once you do, you can try the tutorials for that.
Let us know how it goes.

Have you selected your hardware for the clock? Display? Buttons? RTC (real time clock)? Once you do, you can try the tutorials for them.
Let us know how that goes.

Do you want help selecting the hardware?

No snooze button? Throw a shoe at the motion sensor.....

I vote with "move the clock".

Or you can program it the way you must dance for 30 seconds in front of motion sensor for it to cut-off alarm.

I would if it was for me just keep the clock next to me but i have to use the 12 step design processes and im at my prototype phase and I have a audino uno with a 7 segment display and have no about aduino ive looked up tutorials and still confused i want to use a RTC as well and my motion detector is a PIR MOTION SENSOR

"So move the clock over there."

.

You need help with wiring and programming and you know nothing about arduino and this is a school project I take it? It sounds like you are trying to do too much, so start at the beginning. Google "beginners guide to arduino" and find a beginners tutorial that will probably show you how to blink an LED.

Once you can do that and understand how it works you can google tutorials for the various components you have, gain whatever knowledge you need there and then merge everything together.

Kooltump:
i have to use the 12 step design processes
