Will putting NEO6M inside a case affects its GPS capabilities

I am working on a project that involves using the NEO6M for GPS tracking.

From my understanding, the NEO6M requires an open area and a clear line of sight to the sky for accurate satellite signal reception, as GPS signals are weak and can easily be obstructed by buildings, trees, or indoor environments.

Whenever I test my project, I go outdoors. However, I am planning to enclose my project in a junction box. Will placing it in a case affect the GPS capabilities? If so do you have any recommendations?

It might.

Its depends on the junction box, some might have screening or use plastics with a metal content.

Try it, put the GPS say on a table and then cover it with the box to see if the GPS signal strengths are affected.

As I understand, the module has an external antenna - place it out of the box in case of receiving issues.

I use a plastic case without problems. Living on the top floor there's no problem with receiving the GPS signal. Just test it!
