Does anyone have any great ideas for compact plugs that could be used when putting the Ardunio in a case but wanting plug in external things? This is an example of a case I made and used RCA plugs for things but it was cumbersome and there must be a better way. Exposed screw terminals might be one option per a power supply but all the market available ones appear very big, too big for a compact installation such as this. I'm considering 2.1 mm socket plugs instead similar to pictured. Anyone got any great ideas here?
Hello awesomness99
Take a here a view to get some ideas.
thank you, thats a great idea! those connectors are awesome. I am looking for 2-wire connectors though, I didn't mention this in my original post
Connector is dictated by the signal and how many lines. RCA's are perfect for AV use, but not much else. 5 way binding posts (for banana jacks) are classic but huge. How often are you cycling the connector? Is there tension on the connector? Do you need high current? Shielding? RF? All impact your connector choice.
Browse Mouser.com, their site lets you pick the characteristics that you care about and it'll find what you need.
I use 5.5x2.1 barrel jacks for 5V power in. Mates to the "standard" 5V power supplies.
You can take one connector and solder several cables to it like a Y-cable.
