What's that techonlogy Maglev trains run on, super cooled liquid cooling down some kind of metal which makes the magnet behave like it does, what happens to the magnetic field under these condtions, i'll look this up later by myself, i'm typing out loud so i don't forget to look it up later lol
Well that's how generators work, they use kinetic energy to rotate a coil through a magnetic field (or the other way around I guess). So yeah, I guess they are an infinite source of electrical energy provided you have something to move the coil or magnet to induce the current.

It 'costs' a lot of energy to get to the superconductive state so I don't see how you could characterise it as an energy source.
Maglev uses superconductors to create extremely strong electromagnets which can be used for both elevating the vehicle and propelling it. In some systems a mix of permanent & electromagnets are used. The propulsion is like that of a rail gun, or I've also seen them referred to as "linear motors". Power can be returned to the system as the train slows using regenerative braking akin to what hybrid and electric cars do, or the KERS system in formula-1 by using the propulsion system as a generator to slow down. Again, you have to use more power get your train up to speed first before you can get some of it back by slowing the thing down.

I have ridden two maglev trains, the Shanghai->Airport shuttle (431 km/hr)(268 mph) and the "California Screamin'" roller coaster at Disney's California Adventure park (0-55 mph in 4 seconds)
Nice smooth ride.
However, note that a magnet by itself provides no power there has to be relative motion through the field. And it takes about as much power for the motion you put in as teh power you get out.

So... You can't use the constant pull of a magnet or the constant pull of gravity to generate energy... You can roll something downhill to get energy out, but it takes an equal amount of energy (actually more) to push it back up the hill and start another cycle.
Although the conservation of energy means that energy can never be destroyed or "lost", it can be converted to heat (or light, etc.) and dissipated into infinite space. (This is why you loose energy overall when you roll something downhill, and push it back up.)

The second part (was not the question) my own personal journey. (regarding maglev)
A Magnet, it has a magnetic field that's constant, the flux through motion either the magnet or the metal plate near to it, will induct an electron flow from the magnet, this is indeed how electric generators work, no question there, i've made several.
But, what if there was another way to create power via a magnet without anything moving? sure this currently impossible, but then so was "landing on the moon" who knows what discovery lays in wait, graphene has me excited because of it's properties, who knows what will happen when it's combined with a magic ingredient. (which is why I thought about maglev's which again i understand how it works)
Right now "Free energy" and over unity, does not exist, but are people telling me that this will still be true in 1,000 or 100,000 years time?
The day when magnetism can be exploited in a way we simply do not understand, after all we don't really know what "electricity" is, sure we can measure, apply figures to it and control it, but why does a magnetic field exist to begin with? and why does it do what it does when the atoms are aligned.

Oric, that's kind the point i'm making, we can control, manipulate, even put it down on paper and quantify it... Although I have no choice but to accept the information available, and I have no reason to doubt it, because a theory is a theory until proven true, and well from the very first motor produced with a bath of mercury and a magnet in the middle, I love scientific history.
But it sure would be funny to find out giant super magnets is causing "dark matter" lol -

After YOU explain how your magnet IS a power source. That is YOUR contention. There are MANY power sources that work without magnets. Ever hear of gasoline? "gasoline" is a power source now?.... really? wow, here's me thinking gasoline was very explosive and a very good source of ENERGY, granted but it can't produce "Power" it BURNS it turns that energy into mechanical energy, mechanical energy can be exploited to create power, but again, it's not going to do that without a MAGNET
