Addressable LED strip animations

I found FastLed and it works with my addressable LED strip. It's actually pretty cool. But I now want it to work with my MSGEQ7 and produce some cool animations in response to the sound. But either my google-fu has failed me, or I am stepping into new territory. I am guessing it is the first one. Yes, I am lazy! I want some pre-built animation code. I know there are some creative folks out there that have done some cool things with sounds and the strip lights, so can someone point me to some good examples?

I'm really surprised that it is so hard finding any decent animations. Perhaps there's a different term that I should search for? I'm just trying to find some "prebuilt" libraries/code examples for msgeq7 working with addressable LED light strips.

There are lots of patterns in this one:-

See step 12 for animated GIFs of them.
But you need to write a program to drive the patterns into the strips.

I think suitable google search words are:
ws2812 MSGEQ7

I don't think that you are stepping into new territory. From the several hundreds users in the German forum section there is at least user "Helmuth" who is doing lot of stuff with WS2812 LEDs and MSGEQ7

This is one of his Youtube videos, I think he has several videos at Youtube showing different animation stuff. BTW: DO NOT talk to him about the "4 dead pixels in this video, he already knows about!

Here is another video example of him also for WS2812 and MSGEQ7
