The resistors as placed - and fairly depicted in your tinkercad presentation - are, unfortunately, shorted out.
@artur_krush, @runaway_pancake is correct. Those resistors are not being used, you could take them out and it would make no difference.
The holes I have highlighted are connected together inside the breadboard. No current will flow through the resistor because it can more easily flow past the resistor inside the breadboard.
This means nothing is protecting the Arduino pins or the led display from being damaged by too much current.
I reconnected resistors properly and corrected remote control buttons debouncing. Projects works, but displaying the numbers often requires more than one button press, but is could be hardware issues. Generally, projects meets expectations for now. Thank you all for help!
