Any recommendations for cellular provider to connect MKR GSM 1400 to Arduino Cloud?

Greetings. I I have an arduino MKR GSM 1400. I recently bought a SIM card only to find out that ARduino is having undefined (or undisclosed) issues with SIM activations. And I am not able to locate Arduino cellular data plans anymore (was up on their website a few days ago).

My question is can anyone recommend an alternate cellular provider so I can connect my MKRGSM 1400 to Arduino's cloud ( I already have a cloud plan). Thanks.

I'm currently having the same issue! Did you resolve it?

Greetings. Apparently Arduino is not offering a cellular plan for their SIM cards, which I don't think they are selling at this point. We tried several alternative IoT cellular service providers, both broadband and narrow band, including Hologram and Simetry. However, we were never able to get them to consistently work when we tried to connect to the Arduino cloud. So, we decided to use WiFi and Bluetooth using a MKR 1010. The problem with bluetooth is one of proximity (you have to be close to the board). The problem with wifi connection is it is often spotty (it you're moving around the signal can drop as you move from one Wifi connection to another) and it has has limited range. So we found that connecting to a cellular phone via hotspot worked more reliably for us. We still have the problem of having to be in close proximity, but the connection was stable. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Yes that helps a lot! Incredibly frustrating as I bought the SIM cards off the Arduino USA website last month. I wish that the website had said something before letting me buy them.

I guess I will try the MKR NB 1500 as Wi-Fi is not an option for what I will be using the Arduinos for. Thanks for responding!

I requested a refund for the SIM and Arduino was great to provide this refund. The MKR 1500 is more for field or remote regions with on internet access. It uses narrowband radio access technology. I'm hoping that Arduino has a new cellular board and plan in the works for sometime in the near future.
