Arduino causes unfix-able power surge on hub port

So I was using my Arduino Micro the other day and got a message on my computer saying that there was a "power surge on the USB hub port".

Now this happens sometimes when I'm using the Arduino, but I usually fix it very quickly and easily by unplugging the Arduino, and clicking the "reset" button (for the USB ports) on the screen that shows up when I click on the error banner.

However, this time, that's not working. I clicked the "reset" button as normal, and the screen immediately closed as if it was fixed but then immediately popped up another error banner which caused the screen to open again. This happens every time I press the "reset" button.

So, I took to the internet and followed some of the solutions out there, including rebooting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling my USB ports from Device Manager, and running some windows fix up tools from the internet, but none this worked!

Please help!!! I really need to use my Arduino!

What is connected to the Arduino? If there is nothing connected to the Arduino, and the PC still has problems with the Arduino attached, it's time to go shopping for a new Arduino. Next time, don't do whatever you did to toast this one.

If there IS something attached, that something is drawing too much current. Disconnect it NOW, before you fry the PC, too.

There's nothing attached to my Arduino nor PC. The Arduino still works fine with other computers, but it no longer connects to this PC since the USB ports are nonoperational since I can't fix nor reset the power surge on the ports.

So, you have a dysfunctional PC, not a dysfunctional Arduino. Perhaps your local Ford dealer could help you.

But how do I fix my PC? How do I reset my USB ports?

But how do I fix my PC?

Open the box. Remove everything in it. Order new parts. Put them in. Toss all the old stuff.
