A few days ago I've made an LED Cube tutorial. It's really easy to make one and I show exactly how you can do that too in a few minutes..
I've create also two video the first one is the tutorial. The second one is simply the Demo.
You can download all the arduino code for free on my website. (I didn't made this code, this is the LED Cube library)

I've been meaning to make one sometime. I'll start with this, then try 4x4x4 and end with 8x8x8

I managed to get a good deal on almost 700 green LEDs for $20 shipped in USA so I have plenty to work with.

For those who are interested but have yet to build an LED Cube, you may like to take the more adventurous route and try to build an 8x8x8 single color LED Cube for a first cube.

Building an 8x8x8 LED Cube is more challenging and requires more patience than a smaller cube but it is an achievement you will be proud of if you manage to successfully complete it.
