Hi, I'm trying to get the NEO-7M module into operation with arduin and I'm not getting any gps coordinate module is connected to 3.3V and on the rx pin there is a 10k ohm and 5k ohm resistor divider. Through an application in the PC u-center2, I once managed to get a location since I can't get it.
Perhaps provide the forum with some details;
Which Arduino are you using ?
Which Code are you using ?
How do you have the GPS wired to the Arduino ?
Are you getting any sentences at all?
I use arduino uno rev3.
I am using the code "test_with_gps_device" which is included in the TinyGPS library
I have it connected like this:
Yes I get. With the code "FullExample" in the TinyGPSPlus library I get the date and time.
If you ge the correct data and time it sounds like the GPS is working and being read.
Do you have the GPS outdoors with a good clear view of the sky ?
That not the wiring you showed us in post #4 ?
The connection to post # 7 is via usb to pc
Take the Arduino setup in post #4 outside and see if the GPS gets a fix.
Your question was about getting the GPS working with the UNO ?
Yes it is, but I also tested if the module with u-center2.
Now the module is outside and I haven't received any time yet.
GPSs dont do daylight saving time or local time, they basically report UTC.
If the GPS is outdoors, good view of the Sky, it should report a fix in 45 seconds or so from cold.
If all you get is the time then its likley that either the GPS or its antenna is faulty.
Last time the GPS connected so it took about 45 min.
Oh, thank you for the help. ![]()
