Arduino to control 3 DC motors

Hi!

Im trying to connect an arduino to a Switched Power Supply LRS-75-12 driver, but I really dont knowhow to connect it. Should I use any kind of security? (motor circuit brakers, overload relays or fuses?

by the way, the motor that im usyng is a Spur gear motor SDS80120A-12-750, from the
manufacturer Transmotec. This motor has a power of 40 W, nominal speed of 4 rpm,
voltage of 12V DC, nominal current 5,2 A and nominal torque 8 Nm.

Do the motors run in one direction or both directions?

Motors has a greater inrush current then the nominal current. The best way to drive is a bridge like this.Search on motor driver arduino 10A.

they need to run in both directions

Hi Tom,

Thank you for the forum guidelines, really appreciate it.

the power supply that you has sent is compatible with arduino PCB?

12V to the barrel plug is on the edge. Better is a separate 5V 1-2A and using the 12V PSU only for the motor. With 6A it hasn't much over to run the motor. The driver needs a little power too.

If you use the same PSU, maybe you become voltage drops at motor startup end the Arduino reboots.

Edit: you will use 3 motors? Then the PSU isn't enough. MeanWell RSP-320-12 is a better choice. Take wire 2,5mm²/14AWG.
