Arduino Uno as HDI/keyboard --> How is this component called?

Hello pros,

I was experimenting with the arduino as a keyboard. As I had many problems with the leonardo I aslo used the spparkfun pro micro which also caused many problems.

Now I found a workaround in
http://www.practicalarduino.com/projects/virtual-usb-keyboard

As I am afraid of making errors whith soldering I just wanted to know,if I can buy the component shown in

I also attached a picture.

Could anybody tell me how this component is called?

Many Thanks
Mario

Mario,

The jpg you attached is just a blank shield attached on top of an Arduino UNO. The author then use the shield to prototype the V-USB circuit.

I have some experience with V-USB on the Atmega328P chips. The library referenced is by Rancid Bacon and will NOT work without major changes on versions of the IDE > 1.0.6 so download and install 1.0.6 from here:
Previous Versions IDE

I've even gotten V-USB to work on a cheap tablet using the USB port with an OTG cable:

What kind of problems did you have with the leonardo? Because leonardo works as HID easily thanks to atmega32u4
