@magnus2508 please do not hijack topics. Although your symptoms might be the same the root cause might not be the same.
- Are you indeed using an Arduino Uno R3 (or clone of it)? Or are you using another Aruino Uno (e.g. WiFi rev2, Uno R4...)?
- In case of a clone, what is the serial-to-usb converter on the board?
- Did you install the drivers (if needed)?
- Does COM5 disappear from the IDE (and from Windows device manager) if you disconnect the board?
- Which version of the IDE are you using?
