Just reading a book by one wandering American who has taken up residence here -Bill Bryson.
Does Airstrip One grant "birthright citizenship"?
IOW, if Coding Badly and his pregnant wife showed up in London and she delivered the baby then the child would be a British citizen/subject or whatever and entitle mother and father to stay on Airstrip One as long as they like?
Coding Badly and his pregnant wife
Coding Badly, did you know this?

The election is only 8 months away. They could show up as "holiday makers". Still contingent on the "birthright citizenship" though.
P.E. Oh, my... wouldn't you know it - the "U.K." repealed it in 1983. And that rotten Tony Blair didn't restore it, neither Gordon Brown. Wow. I wonder why.
LarryD, we Are in perpetual state elections.
Congressmen run every 2 years. Senators run every 6, with 1/3 of them running every 2 years. President is every 4 years.
And that's just the at the National level.
It says:-
You’re automatically a British citizen if you were born in the UK after 1 January 1983 and 1 of your parents was a British citizen or settled here at that time. You don’t need to register.
Grumpy_Mike:
Check if you can become a British citizen - GOV.UK
It says:-
But NOT two non-citizens.
That's the point.

With nearly 1/3rd of a million net immigration last year, we're getting rather full here in the UK.
I hear that the Republic of Ireland has more space.
Mass emigration from the US to Eire will reverse a long term trend.

If only.
LarryD:
We have universal health care for Coding personnel.
If I could get that at our pre-Obamacare premiums I would be ecstatic. Wowsers! Health insurance is more expensive!

We're a wee bit past the age at which either of us going to be using the p-word. Or a p-stick.
The resident "little one" is an australian terrier - Google Search. So, I should have asked, "Any Brits willing to provide safe harbor for a wandering American, his beautiful wife (aka Coding Goodly), and her hyper-friendly terrier?"
I guess if England does not want us we can take the little one to visit her homeland. She does like to travel.
I see Romney and McCain decided to express an opinion. Sadly, they just don't get it. In addition to their credibility on the national stage being zero, people are voting for Orange Man because he is not Romney and not McCain (nor any of the other buffoons).
If either Cruz or Rubio bows out now, there is a high probability the other will get the nomination. But, they are both too narcissistic to fall on their sword.
Then there's Kasich. The guy has won ... zero ... zero delegates. But people have been voting for him. Undoubtedly, those votes would have gone to Cruz or Rubio narrowing the gap to Orange Man. There is no doubt he will continue. Continue debating. Continue speaking. Continue campaigning. Continue indirectly helping Orange Man. I wonder if refusing to admit defeat makes him deluded as well as narcissistic?
Any Brits willing to provide safe harbor for a wandering American,
Yes, no problem. Just join the queue at Calais...
I fear that evil psycho Cruz more than that megalo-ego Trump.
And I don't trust Hillary one bit.
I fear that evil psycho Cruz
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts
So you would support anyone who does not try to block the other guy's idea?
Do you need to be led?
Asking a question is
a prime example of the type of logical fail that has got us to where we are with politics in the US.
I was just asking for clarification. You seem to think that my question indicates my position. This is a common error.
In fact, i was asking goforsmoke about his statement that cruz is an evil psycho. Back in reply 71, it seems that goforsmoke agreed with a previous statement that the term evil was simply a label allowing one person to discriminate against another.
When his best idea is to obstruct and block the other guy's idea since it isn't from your team, then I have no hope for him as a leader.
So is there ever an instance where it makes sense to block the other guy's idea? Does it ever make sense to block an idea and not compromise? Or, is every idea worthy of consideration and inclusion into a final plan/result?
Are you saying cruz was blocking some idea(You have not been specific) only because it was from the other side? There was no other rationale?
Today is Saturday. The government is shut down.
So you are not as concerned with the idea that some is be an obstructionist but rather that they are blocking initiatives you agree with?
He was the "leader" of the "freedom caucus" whose sole position was that they would shut down the entire government
Everyone knows the phrase "government shutdown" doesn't mean the entire U.S. government is shut down.
Based on estimates drawn from CBO and OMB data, 83 percent of government operations will continue.
